About US/Contact Us

HISTORY
Years ago, we began observing how torn homes in our nation had become.  In part, we realized that the undo pressures of society and the rapid pace of life was causing division in families.  It seemed that what people were working towards was healthy, but the pathway wasn't.  Likewise, we began seeing the effect that dysfunction in churches was causing on ministers and their families.  Some of the pain we witnessed was self-inflicted, while other hurt came from unrealistic demands by churches.  In over a decade of serving as a pastor's family, we observed countless professionals, business owners, employees and stay-at-home parents who wanted to make a stand for things of faith and yet struggled with the "how".

God burdened us to be a voice for change.  To be an unusual family by today's standard.  A family that works together, plays together and serves together.  We want ministers to realize that ministry isn't a profession, but rather a calling.  We want churches to realize the obligations that they have towards the ministers that they call to serve in their churches.  We want families to know that God desires to lead them.  We want businesses and business people to know that they can operate under the precepts and principles of scripture; that they don't have to be dualistic to be competitive, marketable and profitable.

So we started HCS together.  We evaluated our hearts' passion, education, experience and professional skill sets and then plotted a course in a new direction.  We embrace the freedom that we have in Christ to be who we are and to live to fulfill the purposes we feel passionate about.  In short, we are going to change the world.  We want to invite you to join with us.

A Little About Bryan

Born in Florida, I have had the privelege of living around the country.  I graduated from high school in Texas and joined the US Army as an Airborne Paratrooper/Military Policeman.  Since then, I have enjoyed experiencing  a vast array of opportunities.  Some of those are:

  • Earning Bachelors degrees in Ministry and Business Studies as well as a Master of Arts in Professional Development;
  • Being licensed and ordained as a minister;
  • Completing training and certification in various fields of professional growth including intentional interim ministry, mediation, conflict resolution and  Texas real estate sales;
  • Serving as Pastor/Senior Pastor of 3 developing/redeveloping churches, as well as, an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Baptist University,

Perhaps the greatest opportunity is being married to Alisha since May of 1992 and have the great privlege of partnering in life with her, raising our children and enjoying this wonderful life is.

A Little About Alisha

Garland, Texas was the place of my birth and my home. It was a true blessing to have Godly examples around me all of my life.  In fact, I thank God often for what he saved me from.  From the time that I was a little girl, I sensed that God wanted me to serve Him, above all else, as a Godly wife and mother some day.  Bryan & I met in school and were married a few years after graduating.  I, too, have enjoyed experiencing many things in life that have made me who I am today.  Some of those are:
  • Raising 2 gifted, intellegent and beautiful children,
  • Serving as a Pastor's wife and partner for over a decade,
  • Working to develop women's, children's and music ministry,
  • Providing support for great organizations  such as Garland ISD, New Life Clinics and Dr. Mary Birdsong, MD,
  • Operating a Home Interiors business,
  • Earning a Texas Real Estate sales license through Baylor University's adult education programs.

Mostly, I have learned to value the time that God gives us on this earth and the importance of  being a good steward of what He entrusts us with.
